Diner Portrait

Last year I completed a personal project that was a series of portraits based on movie quotes. The opening image stated the intent – “What If Someone Else Said – Toto, I’ve got a feeling that we’re not in Kansas anymore.” It was a fun photography project, gathering up my models, thinking up the scenarios and deciding what movie quote would go best. I found the list of quotes on the American Film Institute website. Over the past dozen years the AFI has created several lists – 100 best movies of all time, 100 best action movies, best science fiction, etc. – and the one I used – 100 best movie quotes of all time. (These lists have been turned into television specials with clips. There has also been a lot of discussion about what belonged on them, what shouldn’t have been there, but that’s another discussion for another time.)

Now that I think about it, I would love to continue this project.
