London Eye…

…started a trend. They’ve built a similar wheel in
Las Vegas and there’s talk of one being constructed in Coney Island.

Carousel in Brighton

carousel, ocean, brighton, england

A carousel by the oceanĀ isn’t something that I had ever seen before, but when I visited Brighton, England there one sat. I was amazed. It felt like a scene out of the 1960’s British television show “The Prisoner” starring Patrick McGoohan. A surreal moment where anything can happen.

A Visit to Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square

I went to London for the first time on my honeymoon. My wife and I were looking to go someplace we had never been, someplace exciting and where language would not be a problem. I fell in love with London on that trip.

The photograph above is the fountain in Trafalgar Square in 2011. I was walking alone at the time. It was early evening and the family had returned to the hotel as they were tired. It had been a long day and I was tired too, but I wanted to keep on walking.

London at Night

Parliament, Big Ben, London, England

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to London. I think it’s time to go back.

Superman in London

london, england, phone booth

The British have been taking all of the iconic American movie and historical roles of late. David Oyelowo is Martin Luther King. Daniel Day Lewis is Abraham Lincoln. Andrew Lincoln is the lead character in The Walking Dead. Christian Bale is Batman and Henry Cavill is Superman. And this is just the tip of the iceberg!

And adding insult to injury, when the real Superman arrives in London, the British have decided to confuse him when it’s time for a change.

The Pub

Pub, Bar, London, England, Great Britain,

One of my absolute favorite places to visit
when visiting London/Britain is the local pub.
It is an experience not repeated in my neck of the woods.

The Royal Pavilion in Brighton

Brighton, England Royal Pavilion

When I first visited Brighton, England it was either 1984 or 1985.
(Don’t recall which year at the moment.)
At the time, the Royal Pavilion was undergoing repairs and a facelift.
The palace was covered and hidden from view.
I returned in 2012 and this time it’s beauty was in full display.

Windsor Castle

Windsor-Castle

Photograph made several years ago.
Originally with 35mm color film, scanned with Nikon Scanner.

I love the Royal Guard standing by the Castle and the Shadow of the Soldier on the horse.
I wonder if the Queen was inside at the time.
