Young Lady

Arundel, England, Child, Girl

Young lady somewhere in England.

Young Lady in Arundel

Arundel, England, Child, Girl

Several years ago while in London, I walked into the Victoria train station and spoke to a employee behind the ticket counter. I told him of my disappointment in visiting Stratford-Upon-Avon. I said that it felt “Americanized” and wanted to see something “British”. He recommended traveling to Arundel. It’s about an hour south of London. My wife and I traveled on a train that reminded me of the one the Beatles rode on in “A Hard Day’s Night”. The view of the countryside was beautiful, and when the train approached Arundel, a castle came into view on the horizon. It was like an Errol Flynn movie. (Uh oh, it sounds like I’m Americanizing it…)
Arundel is a small town, around 3000 people with castle. My wife and I explored it and then walked around the town. During that journey, the young girl seen above, stood for a moment as I caught her image on film.

At the Jersey Shore

children, boy, girl, ocean, beach, vacation

As winter and those freezing temperatures arrive,
I’m thinking about those fund times of going to the
shore with my son and daughter when they were kids.

Happy Father’s Day to All

Two-Jason Portrait - child - girl

My 2 best reasons for living.

The Cook

The Cook, Teenage girl poses, makes silly, funny faces while holding an egg beater mixer.

I thought it was time to update the photo on my About Me page.
The basic info is the same but wanted a new image.
I took this during a stock photography shoot several months ago.
I’m just getting around to finishing the project and uploading the photos.

The Eyes

Closeup photography portrait of eyes from a project.

My First Hurricane

While I’m in the path of Hurricane Irene, luckily I’m far enough west – about 50 miles from NYC – that it’ll probably just be a tropical storm in my area. My neighborhood is not a flood zone and my house sits on an incline so water runs away, but I still cleaned up my yard and tied everything down on my deck, just in case. And there’s always the possibility of a tree falling on my house. Yikes! It’s a surreal moment to prepare for a hurricane. I’ve never done it. I wish I had a waterproof video camera so I could go outside, play weatherman and look like I’m about to be blown away. Why do those knuckleheads do that?

Well, it’s about 24 hours to the big show!

Happy Father’s Day – to me

Portrait of an Anarchist

On one of the pro photo forums, there’s a discussion about portrait photography. Folks are talking about the merits of hiring a real photographer for a portrait vs. what Walmart or Sears would provide. My suggestion – if you have an anarchist on your hands, don’t bother with Walmart. (The photo was taken with polaroid film using a 4×5 Wisner camera.)

Spring is Almost Here!

This sunday the clocks jump ahead one hour. It’s almost Springtime! I am sick of this winter.
